Obituary for Jack Carey Jack E. Carey, age 85, of Taylorsville passed away peacefully, Friday, September 7, 2018 at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, MD. He was the loving husband of Betty Wright Carey, for 60 years. He was born April 5, 1933, in Brunswick, MD, the son of the late Lena Nuse Carey & Sheley Carey.

Jack graduated from Brunswick High School in 1951. He then joined the United States Army in 1953, serving one year in Korea. He was employed by Springfield Hospital for 35 years.

He was an active member of Taylorsville United Methodist Church, serving on many committees over the years. He was an avid gardener and loved sharing his crops with his family and friends. Surviving in addition to his wife is his daughter Jacqueline D. Graham and Husband Douglas, granddaughter Rachael D. Graham Rothwell & husband Michael, and his 2 great-grandchildren Layton & Rowan and several nieces and nephews.

Loving brother of Mattie Kelly. He was preceded in death by his sister Pauline Stine, Nellie Crone, Marie Smith, Woodrow Carey and Robert Carey. Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM on Friday, September 14, 2018 at Taylorsville U.M. Church, 4356 Ridge Road, Mt.

Airy, MD 21771, with a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM with Rev. Sherri Comer-Cox officiating. Inurnment at Taylorsville Cemetery.
