Obituary for Raymond V. “Skip” Merkle Raymond V. “Skip” Merkle, 85 of Granite, MD Died Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Gilchrist Columbia Beloved husband of Nadine Brooks Merkle. Skip was born November 11, 1933 in Baltimore, MD the son of the late Raymond Gerald Merkle and late May J. Cronhardt Merkle. He was the President of Raymond G. Merkle Inc. until his retirement in 2001.

Skip was a member of the first graduating class of Milford Mill High 1952 and later graduated from Western MD College. He was a Lt. Col in the Army National Guard and a member of the 110th FA 29th Division.

He was a member of various civic and fraternal clubs including Palestine Lodge A.F. & A. M Catonsville Boumi Color Guard and Shrine Center, serving at Potentate in 1997. He served as an Elder and trustee of Granite Presbyterian Church. Mr. Merkle served on the Board of Governor’s of Shriner’s Hospital in Philadelphia for 9 years Devoted father of Joy Parson(Jay) and Robert Merkle(Carol).

Dear brother of Marilyn J. Irwin(George). Loving grandfather of Brooks R. Parson, Brady M. Parson(Karly), Richard A. Merkle(Kaela) Also surviving are nephews Geoffrey Irwin(Dawn), Michael Irwin(Lora)and Mark Irwin(Carla) The family will receive friends on Friday, November 23, 2018 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM ,there will be a Final Salute 3:30 PM by 110th FA 29th Division at BURRIER-QUEEN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Sykesville, MD 21784 (beside S. Carroll High).

Interment will be private. Memorial and Lodge Services will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018 1PM at The Boumi Shrine Center, 5050 King Ave. Baltimore, MD 21237 with a reception to follow.
