Jackie “Jack” G. Hicks of Winona Lake, Indiana went home to be with the Lord at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2018 in Indianapolis, Indiana at the age of 75. He was born on July 14, 1942 in Kokomo, Indiana to Irene (Duffy) Yoder and Loren Hicks. On May 1, 1964 he was married to Retha S. (Livingston) Hicks, who survives.

He graduated from Kokomo High School and spent three years in the U.S. Air Force. Jack worked in tool and die at Chrysler in Kokomo after the military, before attending Prairie Bible Institute in Three Hills, Alberta, Canada and transferring to Grace College and Seminary. After a year at Grace, he started in tool and die at Zimmer.

After retiring from Zimmer, he was the Warsaw store manager for Bontrager Pools. In his very recent retirement he enjoyed motorcycling, ballroom dancing, gardening, working in the yard, and spending time with the family. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Retha Sue Hicks (Winona Lake, Indiana); four sons: Phillip (wife Kasey) Hicks (Nappanee, Indiana); Jay (wife Keri) Hicks (Warsaw, Indiana); Dru (wife Erin) Hicks (Warsaw, Indiana); Tim (wife Nicole) Hicks (Franklin, Indiana); and three daughters: Kelly Hicks (Winona Lake, Indiana); Jackie (husband LaMont) Craig (Indianapolis, Indiana); Polly (husband Jason) Engel (Oklahoma City, Oklahoma).

Also surviving are twenty-seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother: Robin (wife Cheryl) Yoder (Kokomo, Indiana); sister: Penny Elkins (Kokomo, Indiana); his cousin: Rita Roaden; and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, three brothers, and his granddaughter, Aislin Caley Engel. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.

His funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home and officiated by Pastor Jeff Pfeifer. Burial will follow with a graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jack’s name may be directed to CASA of Kosciusko County, Inc., 121 North Lake Street, Warsaw, Indiana 46580; or to Beloved: Not Forgotten; P.O. Box 962, Warsaw, Indiana 46581-0962 and would be appreciated by the family.
