MIDDLETON/CRESTVIEW, FLA. -James A Klingbeil, age 73, of Cross Plains, passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Agrace HospiceCare. He was born on October 9, 1944, in Jasper, MN, the son of Arnold and Bergetta (Johnson) Klingbeil.

James graduated from Portage High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. James worked as a salesman, close to 50 years, with New York Life retiring in 2017.

He was a member of the Middleton Optimist Club and St. Luke’s Lutheran… Read More » Church. James considered himself a backyard mechanic and enjoyed restoring car and attending car shows. He had a variety of interests including fishing, hunting, golfing, boating, downhill skiing, flying, and was a food connoisseur.

He loved to travel with his RV and being at the ocean, but truly treasured most the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. He was a great father and grandfather and will be dearly missed. James is survived by daughter, Tricia (Robin) Chrisler; two sons, Timothy Klingbeil, James Klingbeil; grandchildren, Nicholas, Mikayla, and Ashley; siblings Judy, Don, Dan (Julie), Carole, Janet (Mike) Rubnitz, and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial Services will be held at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL & CREMATION CARE, 7435 University Ave. , Middleton at 11 A.M., on Saturday, June 9, 2018.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church or to Agrace HospiceCAre, Inc.
