James’ Obituary James E. Hill, age 63 of Holton, passed away Friday, February 1, 2019 at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor following complications with a second liver transplant. Jim was born on January 11, 1956 in Muskegon to Charles A. and Ruth L. (Bevins) Hill Sr. and later graduated from Holton High School in 1974. Jim married Deborah Funsch on November 1, 1974 in Muskegon.

Jim has been a lifelong resident of the Blue Lake Township area where he owned and operated Jim Hill’s Roofing for 36 years until his retirement. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting – coins, oil cans, bottles and gas station memorabilia; enjoyed making homemade wine and had restored a 1949 Chevy, 1956 truck and was working on a 1969 Nova. Jim is survived by his wife, Deborah of Holton; his daughters, Dawn Wilburn of Fruitport; Deborah Hill of Muskegon; Jesse Hill of Fremont; his grandson, Zackaria Hill; his granddaughters, Justice Hill, Haiden Wilburn and Addison Wilburn; his sisters and brothers, Charles “Butch” (Tammy) Hill Jr. of Muskegon; Ruth Robertson of Twin Lake; Dianna Hill-Otten of Maryland; Connie Hill of St. Clair, Michigan; Phillip Hill of Arizona; Barbara Wildfong of Muskegon; many special friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ruth Hill Sr. and his brother, Terry Hill.
