James Edward Beck, 89, of Mount Joy, passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at home. Born May 10, 1929 in Carroll County, Maryland, he was the son of the late Roy I. and Marie (Fleagle) Beck, Hanover. Jim was the husband of Mary (Livelsberger) Beck.

Jim was a graduate of Eichelberger High School class of 1947. He was employed by AMP, Inc. as a Die Designer and Graybill Tool and Die until he retired. Jim also freelanced at home as a Die Designer.

Jim worked two jobs most of his life to provide for his family. He enjoyed putting jig saw puzzles together and reading. Surviving in addition to his wife, Mary, is a sister, Katheryn Ebaugh, wife of Joe, Maryland; two daughters, Laura Lefever, wife of Jerry of Columbia and Christine Beck of Hamilton, MT; two sons, James E. Beck II, husband of Melissa of Chambersburg and Thomas E. Beck of York; six grandchildren, Valerie Lynn, Amanda Lyn, Miranda, Tara, Abigail and Penelope; eight great grandchildren, Kaycee, Jenna, Sarah, Riley, Brady, Evan, Jaycee, Hunter; and a great great grandchild, Amir.

He was preceded in death by a great grandchild, Leo and a brother, Robert Beck. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17604 or the Alzheimer’s Association, 2595 Interstate Dr, suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
