Betty J. Liput, 90, of Mount Joy, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 9, 2018. Born in West Donegal Township, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin H. and Cora Z. (Teeter) Emenheiser. Betty was the wife of the late John H. “Jack” Liput.

She will also be remembered by her two children; Cindy A. wife of Crispin Santiago of Landisville and Tina M. Feathers of Mount Joy and her 4 grandchildren, Christopher (Wendy) Santiago of Lancaster, Jason Santiago of Landisville, Alicia Santiago companion of Nathan Groff of Manheim, and Tonya Nye companion of Chas Bare of Landisville. She will also be missed by her 8 great-grandsons and 1 great-granddaughter. Betty will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and her furry friends.

Betty was a well-known restaurant cook for over 50 years. She was employed by the Overlook Golf Course and then moved on to the Mount Joy American Legion where she served as a steward and a cook. Later in her career, she worked at Grandma’s Restaurant and the Middletown Elks Club.

She was a lifetime member of the Mount Joy American Legion Post 185 and belonged to several different animal support groups. She loved to spend her spare time gardening, working on puzzle books, or with her cats Spooky and Harley. A Celebration of Betty’s life will take place at the Sheetz Funeral Home Inc., 16 E. Main Street Mount Joy on Sunday, September 23rd at 2 P.M. Family and friends will be received from 1 P.M. until 2 P.M. The interment will be private.
