Mary A. Mackison, 86, of Lancaster, passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at her residence. Born in Rapho Township, she was the daughter of Howard and Reba (Brecht) Bergman. Mary was the wife of Robert L. Mackison, with whom she celebrated 63 years of marriage this past April 23rd.

Mary was a graduate of the former Mount Joy High School class of 1948. She later received her R.N. from the former St. Joseph Hospital. Mary worked for Heart Haven and later Lancaster General Hospital.

She was a 60 year member of card club and enjoyed bowling at the former Lincoln Lanes in Mount Joy. She was an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Duke basketball fan. Mary enjoyed dancing, trips to the beach, Florida and most of all spending time with her family.

Surviving in addition to her husband, Robert, are three children, Cindy Shirk of Lancaster, Rory Mackison of Conestoga and Rochelle Young, wife of Gordon of Lancaster; and three grandchildren, Brianna, Kade and Kyla. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Edgar and Glenn Bergman. A celebration of life service will be announced at a later date.
