James Guy Hardesty, 72, of Fort Pierce, Florida, formerly of Cobb Island, Maryland, died in Vero Beach, Florida. Born on January 2, 1947 in La Plata, Maryland, he was the son of the late Lillian Agnes Johnson Hardesty and Leonard Wilson Hardesty. Guy was a Union Ironworker and later was a self-employed home builder for 50 years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, crabbing, boating, and golfing. Guy was an avid Washington Redskins fan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margarita Hardesty; sister Jacqueline Walti.

Guy is survived by his children, Heidi Blair and her husband Rick, Ralf Mueller and his wife Lisa, Daniel Mueller and his wife Hilary; grandchildren Drew, Matt, Holly, Travis, Dylan and Jacqueline; great grandson Parker; siblings Mary Jane Nicoll, Leonard (Sonny) Hardesty and his wife Ina; nieces Denise Hardesty Altman and Rhonda Hardesty Sipe; nephew Shaun Raymond Walti; and by numerous other relatives and friends. A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2019 from 10AM until time of service at 12Noon at New Life Chapel, 9690 Shepherd’s Creek Place, La Plata, Maryland 20646. Interment to follow at the Wesleyan Memorial Gardens in La Plata.
