Obituary for James H. Colwell Sr. James H. Colwell Sr., 63, of Anderson, passed away, April 12, 2018 at Community Hospital, Anderson, IN. He was born, July 23, 1954 in Hindman, Kentucky, and resided most of his life in Anderson. James graduated from Anderson High School.

He was retired from INDOT after 36 years of employment. James is survived by his sons, John (Denise) Valenti of Fishers, Todd (Missy) Colwell of Chesterfield, IN, and James (Kelly) Colwell of Pendleton, grandchildren, John Porter Valenti II, Nicholas Valenti, Kennedy Kirby, Macie Colwell, Reid Colwell and Emerson Colwell, 2 brothers, Danny Dowell of Anderson, Jack Colwell of Ft. Wayne, a sister, Susie Lamb of Fishers, and an uncle, Jackie (Genia) Ashley of Marion.

He was also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Frances Colwell, and a brother Tommy Dowell. Graveside Services will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at the East Maplewood Cemetery in Anderson, IN with the Pastor Lee Whitman officiating.

Burial will take place in the East Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson, IN. The family would like to thank all the nurses and doctors at Community Hospital especially the staff on 3 East. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the American Cancer Society.
