Obituary for James H. “Jim” Loftus James H. “Jim” Loftus, 83, of Naples, FL passed away Monday, July 2, 2018 at Douglas T. Jacobson State Veterans Home in Port Charlotte, FL. Formerly of Cincinnati, OH he had been a resident of Naples since 1996. Jim was born June 12, 1935 in Cincinnati, OH a son the late James H. and Jane (Laufersweiler) Loftus Sr

Mr. Loftus was a veteran of the United States Army. He graduated from Purcell High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Cincinnati. He worked for Ford Motor Company as a district sales manager before establishing American Laminating Company in Cincinnati, OH.

He was an avid tennis player and enjoyed boating, especially on the Ohio River on his houseboat. Jim was a faithful parishioner at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church as well as Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Survivors include his beloved wife of 61 years, Dorothy “Anne” (Wilder) Loftus; loving daughters, Katie (Kevin) Gormly of Estero, FL, Jane (Nick) Vesoulis of Columbus, OH, Patty (Frank) Piron of Cincinnati, OH; brother, John Loftus of Cincinnati, OH; 8 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Joanne Adams. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 6, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 625 111th Avenue N., Naples, FL 34108. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jim’s name may be made to The Alzheimer’s Support Network, 660 Tamiami Trail N. #21, Naples, FL 34102.
