Obituary for James M. Harris Saginaw Twp. , Michigan Loving husband, father and grandfather passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Covenant HealthCare-Cooper Campus. Age 89 years.

The son of the late Marshall and Lucille (Sensabaugh) Harris, Jim was born on February 17, 1929 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Margaret Kapuscinski, the love of his life for 67 years, on June 23, 1951. She survives him.

Jim served in the National Guard. He was employed at the family business, Harris & Fischer Ironworks, was joint owner of Automation Control and then eventually took over ownership and operations of Overhead Door Company along with his brother, Dick. Jim treasured time with his children and grandchildren supporting them at every turn.

He also enjoyed fishing, times spent at the cottage on Houghton Lake, going to the casino, getting ice cream and attending his grandchildren’s events. He will fondly be remembered as a phenomenal card player. He was a member of the Elks Club and Fordney Club.

Surviving besides his wife Margaret are two sons and two daughters, Dennis (Karen) Harris, Dawn (David) Ress, Dean (Sandy) Harris and Dana (Scott) Stemple; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; his brothers, Dick (Jan) Harris and Ronald Harris. Jim was preceded in death by his daughter, Debi; and his siblings, Donna, Robert and Susie. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Covenant Cooper 7th Floor for their loving and compassionate care.

Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 2, 2018 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. , (between Shattuck and McCarty). Rev.

Fr. William Rutkowski will officiate. Honoring Mr. Harris’s wishes cremation will follow and private interment will take place in St. Andrew Cemetery.

Friends may visit at the funeral home where the family will be present on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 12:00 Noon until the time of service.
