Obituary for Patrick Michael Hickey Beloved son, brother and uncle passed away unexpectedly Monday, December 24, 2018 at his home. Age 48 years. The son of Elizabeth (Schmittgen) Hickey and the late Michael J. Hickey, Patrick was born July 28, 1970 in Saginaw, Michigan.

Patrick graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1989. Patrick loved being outdoors, and for many years worked in landscaping. Most recently, he was employed at Kapex Manufacturing.

Patrick was an expert woodworker, crafting many beautiful pieces. He loved bicycling, listening to rock music and being with family. Patrick never hesitated to help someone in need.

Patrick will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth, four sisters, one brother and their spouses: Annie and Chris Valle, Los Angeles, California; Bridget and Brad Dupuie, Bay City; Catherine and Brian Lipe, Flushing; Mary and Chris Gibson, Saginaw; Brian and Liz Hickey, Bridgeport; Patrick’s nieces and nephews, Sebastian, Nathanial, Ethan, Emma, Olivia, Audrey, Connor and Colin; uncle and aunts, James and Suzanne Hickey and their children, Luke and Eric; Jeannie Hannah; Jill Eurick; many cousins and special friends. Patrick was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, John and Alice Schmittgen, James and Evelyn Hickey.

Honoring Patrick’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial service will take place 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. , (between Shattuck and McCarty).

Patrick’s uncle, James Hickey, will preside. Friends may visit at the funeral home where the family will be present on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the wishes of the family.
