James Henry Adair Springhill, LA Funeral services for Mr. James Henry Adair, age 90, will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at the Sarepta Church of Christ, Sarepta, LA, with his nephews, Scott and Lance Hooten, officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Branch Cemetery, Taylor, AR under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 12, 2019, 10:00 am – 1:30 pm at Sarepta Church of Christ.

Mr. Adair was born on November 16, 1928 to George H. and Vera Stephens Adair in Point, TX and passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2019 in Taylor, AR. He and his wife were the owners of Adair Custom Drapes and Upholstery in Springhill, LA. He was a master carpenter and gardener, and was an avid outdoorsman who loved camping, fishing, and traveling.

He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Virginia Basham Burns-Adair of Taylor, AR; daughter, Phyllis Disotell and husband, Joe of Taylor, AR; son, Mark Adair and wife, Melissa of Texarkana, AR; granddaughter, Hannah Birchfield and husband, Adam of Texarkana, AR; grandson, Grady Disotell of Taylor, AR; great-grandson, Westin Henry Birchfield; and step-son, Robert F. Burns and wife Tina, of Gilmer, TX. Although an only child, Mr. Adair married into a family of five brothers and is survived by three brother in-laws; Dale Hooten and wife, Boots, Larry Hooten and wife, Brenda, and Ted Hooten and wife, Gaye all of Point, TX; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and beloved pet and sidekick, Dottie (the dachshund). Mr. Adair was preceded in death by his parents and wife, of 52 years, Virginia Hooten-Adair.

Pallbearers will be Jake Hooten, Jimmy Hooten, Mike Corley, Jet Thompson, Robby Burns, and Tim Hooten. The family would like to give special thanks to all the friends and neighbors for all their support over the last two months. Also a special thanks to Dr. Dhawan and staff, and to the staff on Encompass Hospice for their compassionate care.
