Mrs. Vera Antilley Hortman A graveside service to celebrate the life of Vera Hortman will be held at Cotton Valley Cemetery on Tuesday, March 12th at 2:00 PM Vera Antilley Hortman was born March 8th, 1924 to William Elysha Antilley and Evie E. Dubois Antilley in Montrose, LA. She passed into eternity at her home in Cotton Valley, LA on Saturday, March 9th 2019, at the age of 95. Her entire life was spent serving God and her family.

Her love for everyone she met was undeniable, and generosity was one of her many virtues. She was a member of the Cotton Valley United Methodist Church, where she taught Children’s Sunday School and was active in United Methodist Women, who honored her as their woman of the year. She was preceded in death by her parents, six siblings, and her husband Loye Hortman.

Left to cherish her memory are her children; Beth Oller, Loye “Buzz” Hortman Jr. and wife Sue, Wesley Hortman, Ginger Hortman; and one brother, Frank Antilley. Our Memaw leaves grandchildren who will always have wonderful memories of going to her house. They are; Kevin and Jeff Oller, Scott and Brett Hortman, and Jessi Holtzclaw.

Great grandchildren are; Morgan and Maty Oller, Jason and Kim Oller, Tyler and Tucker Hortman, and Hannah and Remington Holtzclaw. Great-great grandchildren are Kamryn Burnette and Elliette Perez. She also leaves behind a special nephew, Reece Lee.

The family would like to express appreciation to the nurses at Minden Medical Center and to the Amedisys Hospice team for their loving care and support.
