Mr. James (J.W.) Gwin age 86 of Sand Rock passed away Monday January 28th at his residence. Funeral services will be 3 PM Thursday January 31st at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with James E. Chesnut officiating, burial will follow in Cherokee Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 PM Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers include Steven Chesnut, Mark Tidwell, Tyler Tidwell, Adrian Flora, Rickey Tallent and Steve Williams. Honorary Pallbearers will be Leesburg Fire Department. Survivors include wife, Frances Stephens Gwin of Sand Rock; nephew, James E. (Carol) Chesnut of Leesburg; nieces, Laura Mae (Jim) Lankford of Glencoe and Mary Jane (Mark) Tidwell of Leesburg; He was preceded in death by his sons, Eddie, Ronald and Terry Gwin; sisters, Vedie Mae Chesnut and Mary Lou Bone.

Mr. Gwin was a native of Cherokee County and the son of the late Miles Herbert and Mary Agnes McDaniel Gwin and attended Little River Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Little River Baptist Brotherhood.
