James Lee Kauth, 65, of Appleton died Wednesday June 20, 2018 at Elderlodge, Neenah. He was born in Appleton on June 19, 1953, son of the late Anton and Lucille (Kitzinger) Kauth. James started working as an auto mechanic when he was still in high school and later worked at Pierce Manufacturing retiring after 18 years.

James volunteered his time and many talents to several local establishments. He accumulated over 2000 hours volunteering at the Food Pantry, 1000 of those hours were as a bell ringer for the Salvation Army. He was known as “Fleet Farm Jim” for ringing there each year almost exclusively.

James was a former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Parish, Appleton where he served as Lector and helped volunteer with Bingo. He was also active with “Big Brothers, Big Sisters” of the Fox Valley. When James did have free time he enjoyed playing softball, hockey and bowling, in which he accumulated many trophies throughout the years.

James is survived by his sister, Jeanne (Mark) Becker, Menasha; three brothers: John (Nancy), Appleton, Jerry, Appleton and Joe, Milwaukee; six nieces and nephews: Jason (Laura), Dawn (Brian) Buelow, Kevin (Nicole), Gina Binversie, Elizabeth and Tony; and seven great nieces and great nephews: Izabella, Noah, Isaiah, Kyla, Cora, Kaylee and Brayden. A private family service for James will be held.
