James Leroy Marion April 09, 1928 – November 04, 2018 Share this obituary View/Sign Guest Book| Send Sympathy Card James Leroy Marion, a faithful Christian, beloved husband of Vivian and father of Robert & Ann, went home to be with our Lord on November 4th, 2018 at 11:30 PM. Jim passed of Congestive Heart Failure, at his home on Lake Martha in Stanwood, Washington. Jim was born on April 9th, 1928 to Robert Nathaniel Marion and Elizabeth Emerton Marion.

He was raised in Port Townsend, Washington, the eldest of 3 children, by his father Robert and his step mother Emily Grant Marion. He graduated from Port Townsend High School in 1946 after enjoying 4 years of Sports and class politics as Junior Class President and then Student Body President in his senior year. Right after High School, he joined the Navy and was stationed in Guam.

When he completed his service in the military, he returned to the States and completed refrigeration school at Edison Technical College. On June 13th, 1953, he married the love of his life, Vivian Jensen, in Seattle (Ballard) Washington. Together, they had and raised two children; Robert Peter and Ann Elizabeth.

In the late 60’s, they moved to Stanwood, Washington and built two businesses together, Jim Marion’s Appliance (Sales & Service) and Jim Marion’s Lake Martha Resort. Jim even drove a Stanwood school bus for a while. He loved fishing, hiking, running their resort, traveling and most of all, spending time with his family.

He was the beloved Patriarch of his family and will be missed terribly by all who knew and loved him. Adored by every single member of his very close family who all came together just last April to celebrate his 90th Birthday with him. Jim is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Vivian, his children Robert Marion (Maryjane) & Ann Marion Trout (Claude), his 6 Grandchildren Michael Eddy (Aileen), Samantha Mitchell, James Marion (Liz), Marcie Trout Palomera (Enrique), Leif Small (Mikel) & Carmen Small and his 6 Great Grandchildren Kayden, Gabriel & Riley Eddy, Xavier & Evelyn Palomera & Jensen Marion.

Also survived by his sister Arta Marion Fischbeck and many nieces, nephews & friends. Jim was preceded in death by his Father & Stepmother Robert & Emily Marion, his Mother & Stepfather Elizabeth & George Cummings and his brother, Jack Marion.
