Moon Jr., age 90 of Lexington passed away Saturday, January 5, 2019 at his home with family and friends by his side. James was born June 7, 1928 in Alamance County to James Monroe and Lurleen Moore Moon. James served in the Army during the Korean War and was an Art Teacher at UNC School of the Arts.

James is preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his son John Chapman of the home; a niece, Jenny Lou Sharpe, a great niece Rachel Ainsworth and special friend Jamshid Jambulov. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
