JAMES’ Obituary JAMES N. COBLE STAUNTON, VA… James Newell Coble, husband of Frances Robson Coble, died Sunday, January 27, 2019. Newell, as he was known, was born in Norfolk, Virginia October 17, 1936 to Damon Newell and Bettye Davis Coble both deceased. His early years were spent in the Norview section of Norfolk.

He was a member of Norview Presbyterian Church during those years. He was in the Naval Reserves and worked with the Army Corp of Engineers. He started working in the dental supply business in 1957 in Norfolk then was transferred to Richmond.

He then moved to Charlottesville for many years. For close to a half century he has worked for Patterson Dental Supply Company and was in the top 25 company representatives most of that time. He loved his job and his many clients through those years.

The last 19 years he and Fran have lived, worked and enjoyed living in their old restored farm house on their small farm in Augusta County. He was a member of Greencroft Club in Charlottesville. Newell never met a stranger and would help anybody whom he could.

Fran, his wife, survives him. Also his only sibling, Ann Stevens and her husband Charlie of Norfolk, VA. He is also survived by his three daughters, Margo McFarland (Rob) of Norfolk, Dodee Smith (Clavis) of Glen Allen, and Marta Brunn (Gregory) of Crozet; grandchildren, Katherine McFarland Samuel (Ryan), Alexandra McFarland, Austin, Natalie, Anna and Chandler Smith, Jack and Matt Friday; and a great grandson, Hendrix Dimarco.

Also surviving are Fran’s children, Tania Lively, Amie Fultz Eastman, and Robert Fultz (Amy), all of Staunton/Augusta County area; grandchildren, Megan Lively Kosowitz (Zed), Matthew Lively, William Hammer, Trinity Fultz Eastman, Caleb Fultz (Erica), Ivy Fultz, Holly Fultz; great grandsons, Odin Kosowitz and Logan Fultz; niece, Connie Henson (Chris) of Roanoke; nephew, David Stevens (Sarrah) of Norfolk; great niece, Charlotte Henson; and former son-in-law and good friend, Rutherford (Ro) Friday. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 214 West Beverley Street, Staunton, Virginia. The Rev.

Dr. Paul S. Nancarrow, minister of the church, officiant. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Augusta Health Foundation, P.O. Box 1000, Fishersville, VA 22939 – specify Shenandoah House. Henry Funeral Home of 1030 West Beverley Street, Staunton, Virginia is handling arrangements.
