Obituary for James Ropchock James Calvin Ropchock, 50, of Powell, Ohio, and formerly of Warren, Ohio, died Saturday, June 30, 2018, at his home. He was born January 20, 1968, in Warren, the son of Frank and Elsa May (Genz) Ropchock. Jim was employed as a Vice President at J.P. Morgan Chase, Columbus, Ohio, for 20 years.

He was previously employed at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Columbus. He earned a B.S. degree in Engineering from The Ohio State University and was a 1986 graduate of Champion High School. Jim enjoyed watching and encouraging all of the activities his children are involved in.

He enjoyed travel with his family. Jim was a huge Buckeye fan and enjoyed attending the games. Jim was a member of Gateway Community Church in Powell and former member of St. William Catholic Church, Warren.

Survivors include his wife, Samantha Ropchock (Curtis), whom he married Oct. 14, 1995, a son, John, and a daughter, Elizabeth, both at home; a mother-in-law Susan Marcum; a brother and sister-in-law, Stephen and Stephanie (Munno) Ropchock, of Howland, Ohio; a sister, Patti Ropchock of Twinsburg, Ohio; a sister and brother-in-law, Laura (Ropchock) and Brian Bunker of Twinsburg; four nieces, Jordan, Riley, Lily, and Amber, and four nephews, Evan, Richey, Chad, and Ricky, affectionately known as Jim’s “Buddy”; and brothers-in-law, Donny Curtis and T.J. Weaver of East Liverpool, Ohio; and a sister-in-law, Julie Underwood, of Michigan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Elsa May (Genz) Ropchock. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 7, 2018, at Gateway Community Church, 8794 Big Bear Ave. , Powell.
