Obituary for James V. “J.V.” Brock Mr. James V. “J.V.” Brock, 76 of Cross City, Florida passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018. J.V. was born in Mayo, Florida on October 31, 1941 to Harold and Loysell Brock. He served in the United States Army.

He moved to Cross City 45 years ago from Raiford, FL where he worked in the prison system. He retired from Cross City Correctional as a Lieutenant. He was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans and Ramsey Bend Hunting Club.

J. V. was a member of First Baptist Church of Cross City. He is survived by his son, Trevor Brock (Tanya) and daughter, Trasha Brock; grandchildren, James Wales, Brandon Brock, Garrett Brock, and Gage Brock; great grandchild, Cooper Lejeune; brother, Orrin Brock; sisters, Rutha Lamb, Vermer Leake and Elvira Lewallen; his companion, who he affectionately called his wife for the last 8 years, Peggy Valentine and her children, Sharon Mills, Cheryl Rodgers (Joel), Sharlene Sheheane (Billy), Jennie Valentine, and Joseph Valentine. He is preceded in death by his wife, Geneal Brock; parents, Harold and Loysell Brock and grandchild, Brendan Brock.
