Obituary for James W. Huggins James W. Huggins, 70, husband of Linda Huggins, died Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Palmetto Health Tuomey. Born January 20, 1948, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Clarence Lester Huggins and the late Bernice Louise Davis Huggins. Mr. Huggins was a member of Lewis Chapel United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Methodist Men’s Club.

He was also a member of the Porter’s Store Men’s Group. He retired from Enersys, Inc. Survivors include his wife of 20 years; two children, Lesley Kelly (Richard) of Greenville and Kevin Huggins (Elpi Giri) of Sumter; two step-children, Malinda Avins (Frank “Spanky”) and Horace “Skeebo” Morris (Rebecca) all of Sumter; three grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Betty Huggins of Alcolu; a special niece and caregiver, Misty Huggins; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence E. “Gene” Huggins and Alfred L. Huggins, Sr. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday at Lewis Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev.

Steve McCormick and the Rev. Jerry Watson officiating. Burial will be in the Brunson Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Le Huggins, Justin Huggins, Craig Huggins, Jeff Davis, Robert Watts, and Todd Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Matthew Floyd and Dr. Charles White. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 P.M. Tuesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
