Obituary for Joseph F. “Joe” Kolar Jr. Joseph F. Kolar, Jr., 79, husband of Frances “Fran” Pierson Kolar, died Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Covenant Place. Born June 7, 1938 in Chicago Illinois, he was the son of the late Joseph F. Kolar, Sr. and the late Marie Soltis Kolar. Mr. Kolar was a member of Alice Drive Baptist Church.

He was a licensed contractor and owner of Suburban Home Repairs and Remodeling. He served on the Board of Directors of Morey Electronics for many years. Survivors include his wife of 59 years; three children, Ken Kolar (Michelle) of Lilburn, Georgia, Susan O’Leary, and Dione McConnell (Chris) both of Downers Grove, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Jestin Kolar, Zak Kolar, Greg Kolar, Joey Kolar, Kyle O’Leary, Kayla O’Leary, and Keaton O’Leary; and a special cousin, Charlene Ryan.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Gill. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to Alice Drive Baptist Church or United Ministries of Sumter. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
