James George Laughter Oct 12, 1930- Jan 30, 2019 James George Laughter, passed away at 88, peacefully in his home with his loving family by his side, on January 30, 2019. James was born October 12, 1930 at his grandma Cook’s home in Dingle, Idaho to Nicholas Cornelius Laughter and Edna Muriel Cook. He graduated from Ogden High School, then James joined the Air Force in 1950, part of this was served in Korea, he traveled many places and was honorably discharged in 1954.

Upon his return he married the love of his life DeLone Lewis in the Salt Lake City Temple on August 26, 1955. He attended Weber State College, and the University of Utah. James worked for the Union Pacific Railroad, then for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

James loved racing homing pigeons, fly fishing the Logan river, hunting, camping, and was a Master Gardner. James won first place in the Utah State University beautification contest for his home and for the church grounds. More than anything he loved his devoted wife who was by his side to the very end and his family.

He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. James loved serving in the temple and doing family history work as well as other church positions. James is survived by his wife DeLone and his children Denise (Brian) Monson, Jan (Trent) Horn, Stacy (Marvin) Farrell, Ralph Laughter, and Jason Laughter.

James has 20 grandchildren, and 53 great grandchildren. His sisters Venice and Karen, brothers Nick and Kirk, his special nieces Pam and Jill. He was proceeded in death by his parents, sisters Doris and Barbara, son Dennis and granddaughter Amber.

The Family would like to give special thanks to IHC Hospice, his special nurse Russell and his caring Doctor Cory Ferguson. Viewing will be held on Wednesday February 6, from 6:00 -8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary at 845 Washington Blvd in Ogden. Funeral Services will be Thursday February 7, at 11:00 a.m. at the Pleasant View 17th ward Chapel, at 900 W Pleasant View Dr. Prior to services there will be a viewing 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. Interment : will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park, at 100 W Monroe Blvd.
