Jamie Lizabeth “James” Gillis, 42, resident of Mishawaka, passed away on Monday, June 4, 2018. She was born on May 2, 1976 in South Bend, IN, to James C. and Catherine “Kate” A. (McLean) Gillis. In addition to her loving mother, James is survived by her sister, Nealie (Marcos Martinez) Gillis of Austin, TX; stepmother, Dawn Gillis; her nephew, Jordan Martinez of Austin, TX; and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, James C. Gillis. James graduated from Penn High School in 1994. She was employed throughout the years by Martin’s, L.S. Ayres, K’s Mechandise, and Wells Fargo.

The family extends a special thanks to Dr. Mathis and his staff; Dr. Wiseman; 10th floor staff at Memorial Hospital; and the staff at Creekside Village. Funeral services for James will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Palmer Funeral Home—Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN. Graveside services and burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in South Bend.

Friends may visit with the family from 6:00-8:00pm on Friday, June 8th and also from 10:00-11:00am on Saturday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy in memory of James may be donated to National Foundation for Transplants, 5350 Poplar Avenue, Suite 850, Memphis, TN 38119.
