Ruth I. Harley, 85, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at her home in Mishawaka. Ruth was born December 16, 1932 in Hanna, IN, to Luke McGirr and Avalou (Grunden) McGirr who both preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to the late Arthur L. Harley on August 27, 1955.

Ruth is survived by two daughters, Renee L. (Timothy) Kazanecki of Plymouth and Barbara Hurst McBride; four grandchildren, Rachel (Frederick) Reynolds of South Bend, T. Kyle Kazanecki of Walkerton, A.J. Harley and Christine Harley; a sister, Ellen Williams; a niece Holla (Dave) Dunbar Drag; and daughter-in-law, Valerie Harley. She is preceded in death by one sister, Lorene McGirr Dunbar. Ruth is a graduate of Riley High School class of 1950 and a lifelong resident of Mishawaka.

She was an Avon representative for 50 years. A celebration of Ruth’s life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, June 4, 2018 at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S Michigan Street, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family Monday, June 4, 2018 prior to the service from 10:00-12:00.

A processional for burial at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, will take place following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society of North Central Indiana, 130 Red Coach Drive, Mishawaka, IN 46545. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.
