Obituary for Carolyn Carey Carolyn Pearson Carey passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at Warr Acres Nursing Home in Oklahoma City, OK. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 27, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Strode Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater, OK. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Carolyn was born on August 18, 1929, to Paul F. and Frances (McLaughlin) Pearson in Altus, OK. Carolyn graduated from Oklahoma State University receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. While there, she met her future husband, Tom Carey.

Tom was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity and Carolyn was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority. They loved dressing up in costumes and attending all the Fraternity and Sorority dances. Carolyn taught 2nd grade at Guthrie, OK and Stillwater, OK, where they moved to attend all of the OSU sporting events.

They were avid fans of the OSU Wrestling Team. Tom and Carolyn would spend every winter doing missionary work in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, after retirement. Carolyn was currently a member at Eagle Heights Baptist Church in Stillwater.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Tom. Carolyn is survived by one brother Paul Pearson of Virginia, her son David (Barbara) Carey of Oklahoma City; daughter Paula Doyle of Texas; daughter, Linda Shiever of Stillwater; grandchildren Joshua and Seth Carey, Oklahoma City; Adam and Alicia Doyle, TX; and Beau and Lindsey Buckminster, Stillwater; 5 great grandsons and 9 great granddaughters all of whom called her GG. She loved them all dearly.
