Nancy Jane Butler, 75 years old, passed away at 9:22 p.m. on Sunday, July 22, 2018, at Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Nancy was born on May 30, 1943 in Plymouth, IN to the late Woodrow W. and Carol H. (Fisher) Riddle. On July 5, 1963 in Lakeville at the County Line Brethren Church, Nancy and Gerald Lee Butler were united in marriage Along with her loving husband, Gerald, she is survived by her three sons, Kenneth (Tammy) Riddle of Bremen, David (Susan) Riddle of Lakeville, and Michael (Mary) Butler of Plymouth; eight grandchildren, Beth (Kris) Verstraete, Kimberly (Eric) Schied, Kenneth Riddle, Jr., Timothy Riddle, Kameron Riddle, Heather Riddle, Michael Butler, and Matthew Butler; five great grandchildren, Jeremiah Schied, Logan Schied, Rowan Schied, Killian Verstraete and Henry Verstraete; and one brother, John (Carolyn) Riddle of Lakeville.

Along with her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Amanda Jane Riddle; brother, Roger Riddle; and sister, Patricia Anglemyer. Nancy loved her family and enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She shared such a personal relationship with each of them.

They confided in her on many levels. Nancy was a wonderful mother, never passing judgment and always present with a listening ear. She would do everything in her power to make her children happy.

She loved spending her life with her loving husband. Nancy and Jerry shared a very special loving relationship. They complimented one another well.

They made each other their priority in life, taking care of one another emotionally and physically. The bond they shared was unbreakable. Nancy and Jerry spent a lot of time at the Plymouth Moose with their best friends Gracie and Al.

They enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Nancy and Jerry loved to travel. They took many trips together.

Most recently, they drove to Texas and back to surprise friends Gracie and Al for a birthday party. Nancy was an Oncology Radiology Technician in her working years where she took care of her patients with care and compassion at the time when patients were in need of a tender compassionate caregiver. It was at this point in her life that she befriended a young radiology technician in which she later introduced to her youngest son.

This young radiology technician is now one of her daughter-in-laws. Nancy was a fighter with such a positive outlook on life and never complaining, when everyone knew she was not having a good day. Nancy fought many uphill battles with her health, during this last fight she gained her angel wings and is now free from a pain ridden earthly-body and has gained a new perfect one in Heaven.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 30, 2018 at the Palmer Funeral Home, within the Palmer Community Complex, 601 N. Michigan Street, Lakeville, IN 46536. Pastor Ed Friberg will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Fair Cemetery, North Liberty.

Friends may visit with the family from 2:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 29th, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Nancy Jane Butler may be donated to the Loyal Order of Moose, 1225 W. Jefferson Street, Plymouth, IN 46563.
