Janet A. Mulvey, age 82, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on Monday, June 4, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born July 12, 1935 to the late Edgar and Mildred (Mulvey) Monroe. Janet graduated from Waupun High School in 1953.

Upon graduation, she moved to Milwaukee working various jobs. She was united in marriage to Lawrence Mulvey, May 21, 1955, and they moved to Neenah, where they raised their family. Janet is lovingly survived by her husband of 63 years, Lawrence Mulvey, five children: David (Kathy) Mulvey; Joan (Jeff) Schabel; Gary (Carla) Mulvey; Ellen (Brad) Shields; Greg (Lynn) Mulvey, nine grandchildren: Jenni Mulvey; Jill (Jeff) Hill; Alyssa (Tommy) Pierce; Henry and Jack Mulvey; Ally and Molly Shields; Adam and Jason (special friend Brittany Wacek) Mulvey, two great-grandchildren: Emma Hill and Annika Pierce, and many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren, two sisters: Mary (Wayne) Coonley; Bergetta (Tom Peters) Monroe, two sisters-in-law: Addie Mulvey and Elaine Ruska.

She was preceded in death by two children: Deborah and Dennis, two brothers: Sidney (Catherine) and Jason (Lola) Monroe, sister, Renee Monroe, and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Janet was one of the founders of the Suburban Athletics Girls Softball League and worked tirelessly for many years serving on the board for many years. She also was a long time member at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church, where she assisted with the Round-Up chicken dinners, funerals, and church rummage sales.

She was also very involved in organizing neighborhood rummage sales for over 40 years. She loved to sew, and over many years donated hundreds of blankets to the Harbor House in Appleton. In lieu of flowers, donations appreciated to Harbor House in Appleton or St. Lawrence Seminary in Mount Calvary.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30 a.m., Saturday, June 9, 2018, at ST GABRIEL CATHOLIC CHURCH, 900 Geiger St, Neenah, with Fr. Larry Seidl officiating. Friends and relatives may greet the family at the church on Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m..

A time of family reflection will precede the funeral mass at 11:15 a.m. Burial will be at St. Margaret’s Cemetery.
