Obituary for Janet Bowman On Sunday, July 15, 2018 at 5 a.m., Janet Becnel Bowman passed away at the age of seventy-two after a lengthy illness. She is survived by her husband, John C. (Chris) Bowman, her son, Steven Thomas Bowman (Joy), her very beloved brother, Thomas L. Becnel, and her grandchildren, Harper and Lincoln whom she loved and adored. She was preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Albert T. Becnel and Isna Webre Becnel.

She was a native of Reserve, La. and a resident of Larose. Janet taught chemistry, biology, and physics for thirty-nine years at South Lafourche High School.

Her life was well-served as teaching was never a job, but always a mission and a true vocation. She loved an excelled at her profession. Her influence and effect on her students and the community was profound.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend memorial services. Visitation will be at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, Larose, LA on Friday, July 20, 2018 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. A liturgy will follow.

Burial will be at a later date in St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve, LA. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to her favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Online condolences can be given at www.
