Janet Gayle Shrewsbury, age 73 of McQuady, KY died Monday, 3-4-2019 at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital. She was born in Roff, KY on November 9, 1945, the daughter of the late Ed “Bug” and Kathryn Henninger Mercer. Janet retired from the Cabinet for Health and Family Services and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren and shopping. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Betty Keown. Janet is survived by her husband Gene David Shrewsbury of McQuady, KY 2 daughters – Jacquie Robbins and her husband Jeff of McQuady, KY Carol Galloway and her husband Sam of McQuady, KY 4 granddaughters – Shelbi and Jenna Thornhill, Ashley Akin and her husband Zack, Lindsey Holzschuh and her husband Tyler 4 great granddaughters: Kobi, Peyton and Blakely Akin, Mila Holzschuh and her brother who is due to be born on Thursday.

1 brother – Burnie Mercer and his wife Marcella of Hardinsburg, KY 2 sisters – Lorna Robinson and her husband Charlie of Shelbyville, KY Pam Taul and her husband Dale of McQuady, KY several nieces and nephews Funeral services will be held at Cornith Baptist Church in McQuady, KY on Wednesday, 3-6-2019 at 12 PM. Burial will be in the McQuady Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 AM – 12 PM.

Expressions of sympathy are suggested to Corinth Baptist Church Building Fund or Breckinridge Memorial Hospital Foundation.
