Janet Lynn Gensel Hammond Janet Lynn Gensel, age 57, of Hammond, entered the gates of heaven after a long illness on Sunday, September 23, 2018. She is survived by her loving siblings, Susan Gensel, David Gensel, Karen (Darrell) Hobgood, Robert (Leah) Gensel and Laura (Jamey) Fleming; nieces and nephews: Denisa, Darrell Jr., Paul, Mary, Anna, Leah, Josh, Miles, Robbie and Melissa; great niece and nephew: Savannah and Jaxson; many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends including her beloved dogs, Harry, Midge and Snow flake. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Jr. and Lorraine Gensel.

Jan was a lifetime resident of Hammond. She was a long time member of Hessville Baptist Church. Janet was employed for over 25 years at the Hammond Clinic in Munster as an HMO coordinator.

Jan enjoyed spending time with her family as well as her companions Harry, Midge and Snow flake. She regularly supported the Samaritans Purse and entered the Publishing Clearing House. She was a loving and devoted sister, aunt and friend who will be dearly missed.

Friends are invited to meet with the family for a time of visitation from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday September 28, 2018 at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville). Funeral service will take place at Bocken Funeral Home at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2018 with Pastor Bob Griffith officiating.
