Janice Louise Englehardt July 10, 1940 – February 25, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Janice Louise Engelhardt, age 78, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away Monday, February 25, 2019 at her daughter’s home in Mayfield, KS. She was a retired motor carrier inspector for the Kansas Highway Patrol after 26 years of service. Janice Louise (Winchell) Engelhardt was born on July 10, 1940 in Rome, KS to Walter Winchell and Mildred M. (Long) Winchell.

She grew up in Wellington, KS and graduated from Wellington High School with the Class of 1958. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading, camping, fishing, gardening and crafts. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles; one son, Marvin L. Walton, Jr.; and one sister, Elaine Freeman.

Survivors include her two sons, Dale Walton, Sr. and his wife Cyndi of Bourg, LA and Leroy Engelhardt of Tonkawa, OK; two daughters, Vanda Neely and her husband Randy of Mayfield, KS and Rita Johnson and her husband Steve of Chickasha Ok; one nephew, Heath Freeman and his wife Jaylene; one niece Lori Freeman and partner Erin Shy; one brother in law, Wendell Freeman of Wellington, KS; 16 grandchildren, and 46 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Wellington, KS on Friday, March 1, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. Pastor Andy Hargrove and Pastor Ernest Sampson will officiate. Graveside Services will be held at Bayard Cemetery in Deer Creek, OK on Friday, March 1, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, February 28, 2019 from 3:00 – 8:00 P.M. The family will be present to greet friends from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Memorials have been established with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Wellington Public Library in lieu of flowers.

Contributions can be left at the funeral home. Frank Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
