Janice “Jan” R. (nee Frank) Hmircik of Port Washington passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Horizon-Lawlis Hospice in Mequon. She was born to Stephan and Elvia (nee Jensen) Frank on July 3, 1923 in Racine. Janice married Robert Hmircik on July 10, 1948 and together they had seven children.

Jan graduated from Rufus King High School in 1941 where she was a cheerleader and played the French horn in the school band. A very special time in her life was living in Hollywood, CA… Read More » during WWII. Jan was a very social person.

She enjoyed being a candy striper and a bible school teacher. Jan was an avid reader and especially loved mysteries. She had a love of music and dance and had a great sense of humor.

Jan enjoyed bowling and was on a league for many years in Cedarburg. She was a talented gardener raising hybrid roses, vegetables and fruit. Jan always enjoyed her family pets.

Most of all Jan was a great mom and loved her family. She will be missed by all who loved her. Janice is survived by her children: Jerilyn Wasielewski, Kathleen (Glenn) Dellmann, Nancy (John Glorioso) Francois, Patricia (John) O’Hara, Barry (Janet Didier) Hmircik, Kristine Hmircik, Brian (Heidi Eernisse) Hmircik, grandchildren: Cynthia (Patrick) Haga, Nicholas Hamilton, Gregory (Desiree) Dellmann, Daniel Dellmann, Melissa Dellmann, Jeffrey Dellmann, Michelle (Jeff) Francois, Brett Francois, Marcus (Sara) Francois, Jordan Francois, Haley Herron, Frank Hmircik, Renee Hmircik, Stephen Nicholas, Aaron Nicholas, Elizabeth Hmircik, Taylor Hmircik and 12 great grandchildren.

Jan is further survived by brother-in-law, Reverend Donald Hmircik and special nieces and nephews’ other relatives and friends. Janice is preceded in death by her husband Robert “Bob Stevens” Hmircik, brother, Lyle (LaVerne) Frank, son-in-law Michael Francois, granddaughter-in-law Junko Dellmann, special aunt Barbara Peterson. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Lincoln Village and to Columbia St. Mary’s Ozaukee and Horizon-Lawlis Hospice for their care and support.
