Obituary of Janice Lundgren Janice E. Lundgren, 89, formerly of Lakewood, NY, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2019, in the Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. A lifelong area resident, she was born August 23, 1929 in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of the late Paul and Lillian “Lolly” Webeck Nelson. Before her retirement, she was employed in the shoe department of Wal-Mart for 10 years.

In previous years she had worked for the former Bells Supermarket, Bigelow’s Department Store and Lundquist Hardware. She and her husband were members of the Camp Street United Methodist Church and the Ingjald Lodge #65 Independent Order of the Vikings, where her late husband Par was the club manager. She will be remembered as one who enjoyed knitting and playing cards in her spare time.

Surviving is a daughter; Darlene (Patrick) Walker of Lakewood, NY. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Par A. Lundgren whom she married May 3, 1947 and who died August 20, 2005 and an infant son, Daryl Paul Lundgren. The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home.

The Rev. Jennifer Delahoy, pastor of the Camp St. United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.

Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service on Saturday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Viking Lodge #65, Children’s Playground Fund, 214 North Main St. Jamestown, NY 14701 or to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Rd. Jamestown, NY 14701.
