Obituary for Jay E Smith Jay “JJ” Smith, 35, of Knightstown passed away unexpectedly Friday, July 27, 2018 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. He was born October 16, 1982 in Toledo, OH a son of Otha (Deanna) Smith and Melissa (Fiancé, Randy Swope) Robinson of Mansfield, OH. JJ was a fun loving man who loved his nieces and nephews dearly.

He enjoyed traveling Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky to spend time with his family. JJ especially enjoyed spending time with his best friend, Mike McIntosh and his little dog, Reece. In addition to his parents, JJ is survived by his siblings, Shelva (Tommy) Stephens of Greenfield, Christopher Smith of Greenfield; step-brother, Jacob Wieneke of Indianapolis; step-sister, Susan (Josh) Whitaker of New Castle; 4 nieces, 1 nephew, 1 step-niece and 2 step-nephews; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

JJ is preceded in death by his mother (grandmother), Carol Smith; paternal great grandparents, Forest and Bertha Steward; brother, Michael Smith. Services will be at 2:00p.m. Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Carthage Wesleyan Church in Carthage with Rev. Charles Stroud officiating.

Burial will follow in Carthage Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00p.m. until the time of service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Jay Smith Memorial Fund c/o Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service.
