Jean Eason was born January 14, 1933, in Temple, Oklahoma, to Gordon and Lillian (Cooper) Lewis. She passed away on Thursday, April 26, in Duncan. Family visitation is scheduled for Sunday, April 29, 3:00-5:00 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home.

A memorial service is scheduled for Monday, April 30, at 11:00 A.M. at the Velma Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Southerland officiating assisted by Rev. Jeremy Higle.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home. Jean graduated from Fox High School in 1950. She married Johnnie “Kenneth” Eason on June 16, 1950 in Countyline.

From this union, four children were born, Gaylin, Dwayne, Bebe, and K.D.. She was employed as a bookkeeper for Bovaird Supply & Pool Well Service and Longhorn Supply. She was also employed at Haggar Slacks Company.

She retired in 1995. She loved “The Club” from the Immanuel Baptist Church. Jean was a wonderful cook and enjoyed cooking everyone’s favorite food.

She was well known for her specialties: pies, candy and fried pies. She enjoyed gardening and raising flowers. She loved to water ski and did so well into her 60s.

She was always throwing pool parties for her grandkids. Jean could dance a mean 2-step. Most of all, she loved being a grandmother.

Jean was a faithful member of the Velma Baptist Church and the Velma Senior Citizens Center. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Kenneth; children, Gaylin Langhofer of Wichita, Kansas, Dwayne Eason of Sulphur, Bebe and husband Brad Shepherd of Duncan, and K.D. and wife Caren Eason of Velma; grandchildren, Dawn and Jason Lang of Kansas City, Missouri; Drew & Heather Langhofer of Edmond, Tami and Brad O’Steen of Wynnewood, Rodney and Mandi Eason of Lone Grove, Brad and Allison Eason of Davis, Kendra and Blake Smith of Lone Grove, and Trey and Tiffany Eason of Velma; great grandchilren, Natalie and Stella Langhofer, McKenzi, Chesni and Bradi O’Steen, Abby Eason, Paisley & Landry Eason, Kolin, Parker, and Gaby Smith, Thea Eason, and Noah and Maci Morse; and sister, Nina Eason Haygood of Owasso. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Yvonne Coleman and Patsy Stell; and brother, Kenneth Hudson.

Serving as pallbearers will be her grandchildren and their spouses. Memorial contributions may be made in Jean’s name to the Velma Baptist Church building fund. The family will be meeting at the home of K.D. and Caren Eason in Velma.
