Obituary for Jean Andrews Jean P Andrews, 76, of Hinsdale, MA, passed away on August 31, 2018 at Berkshire Place in Pittsfield, MA. She was born in Watertown, MA on August 21, 1942, daughter of the late Tullio and Barbara Arone Pessia. She graduated from Mount St. Joseph’s High School in Brighton, MA and from there, Jean went on to study as a dental assistant at Forsyth in Boston, MA.

In 1964, Jean began the first stage of her career as a homemaker, when she married, moved to Pittsfield and raised three sons. Her home was a favorite gathering place for her sons and their friends who enjoyed the never-ending supply of brownies and cookies that she baked. As her sons left the nest, Jean embarked on the second phase of her career, starting out at the Fairview Hospital Gift Shop.

From there, she moved on to become an administrative assistant for a local marketing company and eventually she became employed in the Human Re Department at Sheffield Plastics. After Sheffield Plastics, she started the final stage of her career, retirement. On December 27, 2003, Jean married Tom Andrews and since then, together they have enjoyed skiing, boating, traveling and spending time at their home in Nokomis, FL.

In her spare time, Jean also enjoyed quilting and spending time with her grandchildren. Jean was always quick to help out others and always making new friends wherever she went. She was a tireless volunteer whether it was as a member of the Dental Wives Association putting on educational shows at elementary schools, working in the BMC Gift Shop or most recently, working on the Hinsdale Council On Aging.

Jean will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Thomas Andrews, her sons and daughters-in-law, Kenny and Kristin of Pittsfield, Rob and Alissa of Hinsdale, Christopher and Krista of Pittsfield, her grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Aiden and Ava, her brother, Paul Pessia and his wife MaryBeth of Waltham, MA, her best friend, Margaret Cimini as well as her nieces, nephews and cousins.
