Jeana Nardone Sutton, 83, passed away on Friday, February 8, 2019, with her family by her side. A native of Salinas, she was born November 16, 1935 to John and Carmen Nardone, and lived in Salinas most of her life. She attended Spreckels School, graduated from Salinas High School in 1953, and received her Bachelor degree from UC Berkeley.

After graduating from college, she met her soulmate, Raymond Sutton. They were married, after a short courtship, in 1959. Jeana worked at Boeing from 1959-1961, was a proud homemaker from 1961-1970, and went back into the work force in the early 1970s when she moved back to Salinas with her three children.

She trained, on the job, to be an EKG technician at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital and from there continued to work in the medical field for various cardiologists. Jeana’s favorite past times included traveling both near and far-particularly to Italy to visit family, playing the piano, dancing, attending her grandchildren’s band concerts, sporting events and teaching them how to latch hook and knit, spending time at the beach with her family and friends, enjoying girls night out, and taking her dachshund, Sadie, for adventures around the neighborhood and in the car. She is survived by her three children, Steven (Dori), John (Laurie), Susan (John), five grandchildren, Steven, Sam and Shelby Sutton and JP and Alison O’Dell, her brother John (Lorraine) Nardone and three nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Sutton, in 1970, and her parents John and Carmen Nardone. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1 Railroad Ave. , Spreckels, CA 93962 Memorial Donations, in Jeana’s honor, can be made to Heartland Hospice, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or donor’s favorite charity.
