Jeanette’s Obituary Jeanette Deal Lewis, age 67, passed away, surrounded by her family, at home in Baneberry, TN on May 25, 2019. She is survived by her husband and high school sweetheart, Donald Lewis; her siblings, Jean Rice of Cumberland, KY, Linda Powers (Michael) of Jefferson City, TN and Donald Deal (Lorene) of Partridge, KY; and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Johnny and Julia Deal of Cumberland, KY and a sister Brenda Chandler of Big Stone Gap, VA.

Born on April 5, 1952 in Benham, KY, Jeanette earned a bachelor’s degree in Education from Eastern Kentucky University and her master’s degree from Union College. A devoted Special Education teacher, she was known for her commitment to each of her students, even after they had left her classroom. She was a generous and caring education professional for 32 years.

Jeanette loved to work in her flower garden and would spend many hours with her beautiful flowers. She was an active and dedicated member of the Calvary Baptist Church in White Pine, TN. Visitation will be held at Tri-City Funeral Home, 506 Holly Street, Benham, KY from 12 – 2 pm on Thursday, May 30, 2019.

Interment will follow in Monte Vista Cemetery, Cumberland, KY with Pastor TH Ferrell leading the service. A local visitation was held on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at Farrar Funeral Home in White Pine, TN from 5 -7 pm with a service at 7 pm in the chapel with Rev. Josh Spurgeon officiating.
