Jeanette Faye Weeks, age 71, of Granite City, IL, passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Gateway Regional Medical Center, Granite City, IL. Jeanette was born on November 29, 1946 in St. Louis, MO, a daughter of the late Edward Volner and Ima (Skaggs) Messinger. On August 31, 1963, Jeanette married Gregg Weeks, in Madison, IL.

Jeanette was a proud homemaker who loved taking care of her family. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan; Jeanette was also an Elvis Presley fan. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents, Jeanette was preceded in death by her step-father, James Messinger; two sisters, Janet Stock and Linda Hopkins; and by two brothers, Stanley Volner and Steve Messinger. She is survived by her devoted husband, Gregg Weeks of Granite City, IL; loving children, Jeffrey (Janice) Weeks of Granite City,IL and Angie (April) Guithues of Belleville, IL; dear sibilings, Brenda Cox and Jimmie Volner both of Desloge, MO; proud grandmother to Kenneth Gauen of Pontoon Beach, IL, Becca (Tyler) Wilson of New Athens, IL, Hannah Weeks of Granite City, IL, Jimmy Guithues of Okawville, IL, Ericka Guithues of Okawville, IL, Ryan Guithues of Granite City, IL and Dakotah Guithues of Granite City, IL; one great-granddaughter on the way; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 14, 2018 at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road,, Granite City, IL. In celebration of her life, funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Irwin Chapel, Granite City, IL, with Rev. Randle Copeland officiating.

Interment will be in St. John Cemetery on Maryville Road, Granite City, IL. Memorial donations may be given to the American Heart Association. Donations will be accepted at the funeral chapel.
