Danny R. Briggs Sr., age 66, of Glen Carbon, IL, passed away on Friday, September 7, 2018. Danny was born on September 27, 1951 in East St. Louis, IL, a son of the late Raymond and Clara Briggs. Danny’s favorite holiday was Christmas and he loved spending it with his family.

He enjoyed playing slots on his ipad, scratch off tickets and was an Elvis Presley fan. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren, Tyler and Paige. Danny will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by his son, Danny R. Briggs Jr.; and by a great-nephew, Karsyn Ray Young. He is survived by his devoted wife, Diane L. Briggs (Meyer), loving daughter and son-in-law, Deanna and Chris Depper; proud grandfather to Tyler and Paige Depper; very special niece, Amy Stehlick; best friends and family, Eddie and Rose Kirst, John, Marypat, Makayla and Joey Kissane and Jimmy and Joanie Wisenhunt; eight brothers and sisters, Gary (Sharon) Briggs, Darryl (Janie) Briggs, Randy (Sandy) Briggs, Anita (Bill) Briggs, Angela (Ted) Dierkes, Denise (Matt) Krohne, Karen (Bill) Good and Diane Meyer; brother-in-law, Mike Meyer; sister-in-law, Linda (Stanley) Carnahan; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family and many wonderful friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 10, 2018 at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road, Glen Carbon, IL.

In celebration of his life, funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Irwin Chapel, Glen Carbon, IL. Private interment will be at Buck Road Cemetery, Glen Carbon, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the family, in care of Diane Briggs.
