Betty Haeffner, age 85, of Edwardsville, IL, passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Eden Village, Glen Carbon, IL. Betty was born on September 1, 1933 in Edwardsville, IL, a daughter of the late Oscar Davis and Mary (Dunning) Davis. On February 9, 1952, Betty married Willis Haeffner, the love of her life, in Edwardsville, IL.

Willis passed away in May of 2015. Betty retired from the Edwardsville School District as an Elementary Teacher after many years of dedicated service. She enjoyed quilting and reading a good book.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Betty loved life, she loved to laugh, but most of all she loved her family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Melow and Alice Jackson; and by her brother, Paul Davis. Betty is survived by her loving daughters, Karen (Paul) Venable of Worden, IL and Kim (Dale) Winters of Collinsville, IL; dear sisters, Dorothy McDonald of Asheville, NC, Esther Dickerson of Edwardsville, IL, Judy (Don) Vitali of South Roxana, IL and Mary McGee of Highland, IL; proud grandmother to Jeff (Denise) Winters, Shane (Jodi) Fore, Edgar (Lynette) Venable, Joshua (Desiree) Lienemann, Kasey (Michael) Cochran, Chad (Shelley) Venable and Hannah Winters; proud great-grandmother to ten great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road, Glen Carbon, IL.

In celebration of her life, funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, with Pastor Tim Broiher officiating. Betty will be laid to rest next to Willis at Woodlawn Cemetery, Edwardsville, IL. Memorial donations may be given to Hospice of Southern Illinois.

Donations will be accepted at the funeral chapel. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www. irwinchapel.com.
