Sharon E. (Chronister) Johnson, 73 of Granite City, Illinois passed away on Monday, October 1, 2018 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Sharon was born on January 21, 1945 in Granite City; the daughter of the late Harry W. and Violet Bernice (Bowman) Chronister Sr. Sharon was a Certified Nursing Assistant at Christian Hospital North East in St. Louis and in her free time Sharon loved to shop. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Sharon will be remembered for her kind heart and all the special times she shared with her family and friends. Sharon is survived by and will be missed by her children; Earl Patrick Kelly of Granite City, Charles Watson Kelly of Granite City, Robert Curtis Kelly of Granite City, Marian (Joe) Fox of Colorado, Dawn (Tom) Munoz-Castilleja of Granite City; beloved companion, David Ebling; sisters, Wanda Maxine Sullivan, Carol Miflin, Pam (Jim) Smith; brother, Harry “Butch” (Connie) Chronister; grandchildren, Robby, Shawn, Dougie, Brian, Sam, Sebastian; and numerous great-grandchildren and many close family members and friends. In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her son; John Leonard Kelly; brothers, Charles “Chuck” Chronister, Robert Lee Chronister; sisters, Shirley Mae (Mark) Gausepohl, Mildred Browning.

In celebration of Sharon’s life, friends may call on Thursday, October 4, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Mark Maynard officiating at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City.
