Dorothy M. Proffitt, 95 of Granite City, Illinois passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City. Dorothy was born on November 3, 1923 in Granite City; the daughter of the late Joseph and Blanch (Delacretez) Waller. Dorothy was an electrical sales person at Central Hardware who in her free time enjoyed playing bingo, bowling and camping trips.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Dorothy will be remembered for her kind heart and all the special times she shared with her family and friends. Dorothy is survived by and will be missed by her daughter; Sandra (Patrick) Cline of Granite City; sons, Ronald (Patricia) Proffitt of Granite City, Richard (Carol) Proffitt of Granite City; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister Edith Hollerson of Hayward, CA.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband; George E. Proffitt, whom she married on December 8, 1940, and her 4 brothers and sisters. In keeping with Dorothy’s wishes she will be cremated.
