Ronald James Breeden Sr., age 59, of Granite City, IL, passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Jefferson Barracks Veterans Hospital, St. Louis, MO. Ron was born on July 13, 1959 in Georgia, a son of the late George Breeden and Ann (Vasiloff) Breeden. On June 17, 2017, Ron married Denise in Granite City, IL.

Ron served his country proudly in the United States Marines for many years. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Baseball fan. He enjoyed going to games with his family and watching them play on tv.

His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. Ron will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Steve Breeden.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Denise Breeden; loving children, Carolyn (Steve) Jakubiak and Ronny Breeden Jr.; stepson, Bryce (Krystin) Hurst; sibilings, Vicki (Chad) Whitford, Mark (Mary) Breeden, Brian (Linda) Breeden, David (Cheryl) Breeden and Bruce (Dawn) Breeden; grandchildren, Zoey, Camden, Anna and Hunter; many nieces nephews, extended family and friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road, Granite City, IL. In celebration of his life, funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Irwin Chapel, Granite City, IL.

Interment with full military honors will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO. Memorial donations may be given to the Wounded Warriors Project. Donations will be accepted at the funeral chapel.
