Michael Mik Thoma Reichwein , November 28, 1967 — October 02, 2018

Michael “Mike” Thomas Reichwein, age 69, of Granite City, IL, passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Gateway Regional Medical Center, Granite City, IL, Mike was born on December 30, 1948 in St. Louis, MO, a son of the late William Reichwein and Gertrude (Sheridan) Reichwein. On November 28, 1967, Mike married Jeanine Puhse, the love of his life in Edwardsville, IL. He was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Edwardsville, IL.

Mike retired from running the production line at Raskas Dairy in St. Louis, MO, after many years of dedicated service. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his Harley. Mike also loved bowling, he even taught bowling for many years.

His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mike loved life, he loved to laugh, but most of all he loved his family. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his brothers, William, John and George Reichwein; and by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Alice and Ralph Puhse. Mike is survived by his devoted wife of fifty years, Jeanine Reichwein; loving daughter, Terri Lynn (Dexter “J.R.”) Thompson; proud grandfather to Jayson (Ashley) Thompson and Allison Thompson; proud great-grandfather to Scout Thompson and Damian Thompson all of Granite City, IL; dear sisters, Madeline Barfield of St. Peters, MO and Cathy Breakfield of AL; nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Church, 2249 S. Route 157, Edwardsville, IL 62025.

In celebration of his life, funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor Rob Schneider officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Estates, Glen Carbon, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the family.
