Obituary for Mrs. Jeanne C. Lanctot Jeanne C. Lanctot, 92, of Depot St, Burke, died Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family and aided by Hospice of the North County. Born on March 26, 1926 she was the daughter of Maurice and Mina (Pelkey) Chauvin. She married Edgar Lanctot on May 24, 1947 in Notre Dame Church.

Born in Malone, Jeanne spent her life in the area. During her working career, she acted as a Franklin County stenographer and continued in the legal profession as a legal secretary to attorney Claude J. Clark. Prior to their move to Burke, Jeanne and Edgar enjoyed many happy years on Chateaugay Lake.

They embraced Burke, participated in the local events and were enveloped by the community. She was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in Chateaugay and served on the Board of Directors of the Farrar Home. The family extends deep appreciation to Franklin County Hospice and to the dedicated caregivers whose assistance allowed her to stay in her home.

She is survived by her husband, Edgar Lanctot of Burke; a daughter Jill-Ann (Michael) Brockhues of Plattsburgh and grandchildren Erica Brockhues-Manley and Laura Odell; a son Jack Lanctot of Malone and grandchildren Karrie Lanctot and Kristen Lanctot; a daughter Julie (Randall) Stickles of Yuma, Arizona and grandchildren Nolan Stickles and Neil Stickles; 7 great-grandchildren as well as many cherished nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and sisters Phyllis (Chauvin) Betters and Dorothy (Chauvin) Guerin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at St. George’s Church, Burke.
