Jeanne Marie Bengsch, 71, of Beloit, WI, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 in the UW Hospital, Madison, WI. She was born April 5, 1948 in Portage, WI, the daughter of Fred and Leila (Johnson) Lyon. Jeanne was a 1966 graduate of Westfield High School.

She married Terrance “Terry” Bengsch on August 19, 1967 in Westfield, WI. He predeceased her on March 17, 1996. Jeanne started her working career at General Telephone in Madison, WI.

In 1968, she was employed by the Beloit Clinic as a Medical Assistant moving her way to Patient Advocate, retiring in 2014. Jeanne loved baking, traveling to Northern Wisconsin and Florida beaches and serving her family and friends. She was a huge Wisconsin Badger fan.

Jeanne was a volunteer and former board member of Beloit Regional Hospice. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was involved in many church activities including the choir and ladies aide association. Survivors include her sisters, Susan “Sue” (Tim) Slowey of Westfield, WI, and Kay (Roger) Reetz of Mequon, WI; brother-in-law, Albert “Bud” Imm; sister-in-law, Teri Lyon; in-laws on the Bengsch side; nephews, Tim “Fred” (Claudia) Marquardt, Andy (Stephanie) Marquardt, David (Marnie) Marquardt, Phil (Skye) Marquardt, Jon (Lisa) Reetz, Pat (Angie) Reetz, Alan (Dawn) Slowey, Paul Slowey and Tom (Brittney) Lyon; nieces, Peggy (Paul) Pavlich, Tricia (Henry) Sautin, Tiffany (Mark) Jolicoeur and Samantha Slowey; numerous great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and numerous best friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, husband, sisters Charlene Marquardt, Barbara Imm and infant Cheri, brother Tom Lyon, nephews Dennis Imm and Michael Imm; nieces Pamela Reetz and Mary Ann Imm. Visitation of Remembrance for Jeanne will be from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2019 in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1850 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, followed by a funeral service at 5:30 p.m. with Reverend Randall Senn officiating. Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 25, 2019 in Oak Hill Cemetery, Westfield, WI, followed by a gathering at the Slowey Family Farm.

Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in her name to Beloit Regional Hospice or Trinity Lutheran Church.
